Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 5, 2026
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how ResAI (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information when you use the Restore Photos AI website and online service (the “Service”). It applies together with our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:
- Photos and image files you upload. These may depict people, places, or documents you choose to submit for AI-assisted restoration, enhancement, colorization, or related processing.
- Technical and usage data. Such as browser type, device characteristics, approximate location derived from network information, timestamps, and similar diagnostics needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Identifiers and session data. We may assign or store identifiers (for example a browser or session identifier) to recognize your visit, maintain preferences, and associate activity with fraud prevention or fair-use limits.
- Authentication and account data. If you sign in, purchase a plan, or use licensing features, we may process your name, email address, license or subscription status, and related billing references as provided by you or our payment or licensing partners.
- Usage limits and credits. We may record how many restorations or operations you perform to enforce free tiers, quotas, or subscription entitlements.
3. How we use information
We use the above information to:
- Provide the Service: queue and run image processing (including server-side and automated pipelines), deliver outputs, and show status or errors;
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- Operate sessions, caching, and background infrastructure (for example in-memory data stores used for queues or short-lived state);
- Measure aggregate usage, improve reliability and performance, and develop features;
- Communicate with you about the Service, purchases, or legal notices where appropriate;
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies where necessary for the Service to function (for example to remember a session or identifier), and we may use additional cookies or pixels for analytics or marketing according to your settings and applicable law. You can control many cookies through your browser; blocking required cookies may limit functionality.
5. AI processing
Your images may be analyzed and transformed using automated and machine-learning systems. Outputs are generated for your requested purpose and are not intended as a substitute for professional archival, forensic, or identity verification. Do not upload images you are not allowed to share.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who host, secure, or operate our infrastructure, process payments, provide licensing or customer tools, analytics, or email delivery, solely to perform services on our behalf;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
Those recipients are contractually or legally bound to appropriate confidentiality and security measures where applicable.
7. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal data across borders, we use safeguards required by applicable law (such as appropriate contractual clauses) where needed.
8. Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, and security needs. Uploaded images and derived outputs may be kept only for the time needed to complete processing, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention, unless a longer period is required by law or you ask us to retain them where we offer that option. Aggregated or de-identified data may be kept longer.
9. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords and caution when uploading sensitive images.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under applicable state law; we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA for targeted advertising in a way that requires opt-out of sale/sharing for those statutory definitions, subject to updates in our practices.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required in your region. Do not upload images of children unless you have authority to do so. If you believe we have collected a child’s personal information inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
